Hello, teacher friends! I am so excited to share over 20 years of teaching experiences and expertise with you in my new book, Read it Write it Love it. I have been teaching in the Capital Region of New York State since 2000, first as a substitute teacher, then as a Special Education teacher, and finally as a high school and middle school ELA teacher. I've spent most of my career in the 7th grade ELA classroom working to instill a love of reading in my students while helping them to find the power of their voice in writing. My students have been my inspiration from the beginning, and they give me so much hope for a bright future!

Beyond the classroom, I have written two books, presented nationally with Keeping the Wonder and Get Your Teach On, trained teachers locally as part of New York State's transition to new standards, worked as curriculum ambassador in my home district and the surrounding Capital Region, and coached and advised various sports and clubs.

My greatest joys are my family and friends. My husband and I have taught at the same school for our entire careers, and he is my biggest cheerleader and supporter. My three kids are my whole world, and I've had the magical experience of having each of them in my class in our small school. In my house, education and public schools are a family affair. We love learning, and we are passionate about serving our community!
